Telugu ranks third by the number of speakers in India. It is one of the scheduled languages of the Republic of India. Approximately 10,000 inscriptions exist in the Telugu language, the speakers of the language call it Telugu or Tenugu. The older forms of the name include Teluṅgu, Tenuṅgu and Teliṅga, the etymology of Telugu is not certain.
Some historical scholars have suggested a derivation from Sanskrit triliṅgam, as in Trilinga Desa, tradition holds that Shiva descended as a lingam on three mountains, Kaleshwaram, Srisailam, and Bhimeswaram, which are said to have marked the boundaries of the Trilinga Desa. Atharvana Acharya in the 13th century wrote a grammar of Telugu, Appa Kavi in the 17th century explicitly wrote that Telugu was derived from Trilinga. Scholar Charles P. Brown comments that it was a strange notion as all the predecessors of Appa Kavi had no knowledge of such a derivation.
George Abraham Grierson and other linguists doubt this derivation, holding rather that Telugu was the older term, another view holds that tenugu is derived from the proto-Dravidian word ten– south to mean the people who lived in the south/southern direction. The name telugu then, is a result of n - l alternation established in Telugu, according to the natve tradition Telugu grammar has a hoary past. Sage Kanva was said to be the first grammarian of Telugu, a Rajeswara Sarma discussed the hisoricity and content of Kanvas grammar written in Sanskrit. He cited twenty grammatical aphorisms ascribed to Kanva, and concluded that Kanva wrote an ancient Telugu Grammar which was lost, according to the Russian linguist M. Andronov, Telugu split from the Proto-Dravidian languages between 1500 and 1000 BC. According to linguist Bhadriraju Krishnamurti, Telugu, as a Dravidian language, descends from Proto-Dravidian, linguistic reconstruction suggests that Proto-Dravidian was spoken around the third millennium BC, possibly in the region around the lower Godavari river basin in peninsular India. The material evidence suggests that the speakers of Proto-Dravidian were of the associated with the Neolithic societies of South India.

You spend more time even with the characters, the apparent villains grow less apparently villainous. Soap opera storylines run concurrently, intersect and lead into further developments, each episode may feature some of the shows current storylines, but not always all of them. Soap operas rarely bring all the current storylines to a conclusion at the same time, when one storyline ends, there are several other story threads at differing stages of development. Soap opera episodes typically end on some sort of cliffhanger, evening soap operas and those that air at a rate of one episode per week are more likely to feature the entire cast in each episode, and to represent all current storylines in each episode. Evening soap operas and serials that run for only part of the year tend to bring things to a dramatic end-of-season cliffhanger, the article explained that at that time, many prime time series lost money, while daytime serials earned profits several times more than their production costs. Fitting in with these characteristics, most soap operas follow the lives of a group of characters who live or work in a particular place, the storylines follow the day-to-day activities and personal relationships of these characters. These elements may be found across the gamut of soap operas, Due to the prominence of English-language television, most soap-operas are completely English.
In many soap operas, in particular daytime serials in the US, Soap operas from the United Kingdom and Australia tend to focus on more everyday characters and situations, and are frequently set in working class environments. Many of the soaps produced in two countries explore social realist storylines such as family discord, marriage breakdown or financial problems. This diverges from US soap operas where such comedy is rare, UK soap operas frequently make a claim to presenting reality or purport to have a realistic style. Romance, secret relationships, extramarital affairs, and genuine hate have been the basis for many soap opera storylines, in US daytime serials, the most popular soap opera characters, and the most popular storylines, often involved a romance of the sort presented in paperback romance novels. Mogalirekulu, the Great Telugu Mega TV Serial on Gemini TV, is a superb creation of famous novelist Yaddanapudi Sulochana Rani and The great sisters Manjula Naidu(Direction) and Bindu Naidu(Screenplay and Dialogues) under the banner of Srikanth Entertainments Pvt.Ltd. The story based on the conflict between good and evil and the ultimate win of goodness, honesty, moral and ethical values over cruelty and heinous crimes is a good moral lesson for our present environment of the society where crimes and corruption are going on ever increasing. The title was very suitably chosen by the story writer as 'Mogalirekulu'. It represents the beautiful, fragrant flowers called Mogalirekulu which blossom in the midst of thorns and snakes but remain intact unaffected by the surroundings by spreading a good fragrance and giving beauty to the surroundings. The main characters of first generation Dharma, Satya, Daya, Keerthana, Shanti, and Selva swamy represent these flowers who were born and grown up in the midst of crimes, quarrels and violence between families but they emerged as good characters with high moral values with infinite love and an unbreakable bondage inspite of all the oddities and sufferings they faced.
And R.K.Naidu was the most admired ideal character for all. Dharma, the main hero of first part of the story had to work with Selvaswamy, a contractor of his same age group, for bringing up his two brothers( Satya, Daya) and sister( Shanti) whose parents were killed in some family conflicts by their relatives.
One more neighbourhood orphan girl Keerthana joins them. But after some period, Shanti gets lost while she was waiting for her brothers on the temple steps.
As she could not find them, she was made to adopt to begging for her livelihood. But somehow she manages to escape from those circumstances and reaches her relatives and lives there even though they treated her very badly. Even Though Dharma had to participate in illegal activities with Selvaswamy, he never liked those things as he was very good natured and morally against performing such activities. But he had to work with Selvaswamy as a gratitude for the support given by him and his mother Gomati for bringing up his brothers and sister and Keerthana. Keerthana was very much fascinated by the character of Dharma and falls in love with Dharma even though Dharma did not look her in that way. But Selvaswamy gets attracted by her simple good nature and wanted to marry her as he was not aware of Keerthana's love with Dharma.
Even though Gomati was aware of this fact, she did not tell Selva and forces Keerthana to marry her son. Dharma, who regarded friendship as more valuable than his marriage with Keerthana suppresses his feelings and requests Keerthana to marry Selva. Keerthana did not agree. So Gomathi gets Dharma kidnapped and torture him and shows the videos to Keerthana and compels her to marry Selva. But Selva came to know of Keerthana's love with Dharma and did not marry her even though he gets angry with them.
Gomati at last succeeded in breaking the friendship of Dharma and Selva as she thought Dharma and his brothers to be dangerous to their life and business. She filled Selva's ears with poison and hatred against Dharma due to which Selva began to think that his mother was correct and believed that Dharma was hiding many things from him and betraying him and also stole Keerthana from him. A feud takes place between them in which Dharma gets injured and was made to forcefully leave their house along with his brothers and Keerthana. But before leaving Gomati takes promise from Dharma that he will never let Selvaswamy know about the bad means she had adopted to break the friendship between him and Selva.
As Dharma was very grateful to them, he promises to keep her words. In the meantime, R.K.Naidu enters as a main character of the story. He is a police officer who respects duty and ideals of the society. He tries to reform the society by his sincere work. During one such occasion, he comes to the rescue of Shanti who was being harassed by her people where she was living after escaping from kidnappers in the childhood. R.K.Naidu rescues her and takes her to his home so that he can make some better arrangements for her living. Shanti was very grateful to him and respected him very much.
She looked after all his work. She liked his character very much and adored him as an angel. R.K.Naidu also gets pleased by her simplicity, humbleness and innocency. At Last he decides to marry her. Thus their marriage takes place.
Even after marriage, she was so humble and simple that she continued to address him as ' Sir ' till the end. Meanwhile, Gomati manages to get Selva married to a girl of her choice from her hometown named Meenakshi.
![]()
First, she brought the girl and kept her in her house and made Selva get attracted to her. As Meenakshi was very beautiful, simple, modest and morally very good Selva agreed to marry her even though he tried to avoid her for many days. Meenakshi is very simple, honest and innocent and loved Selvaswami a lot inspite of his harsh nature. In the meantime, many happenings take place. Selva's associates under the guidance of Gomati and one brother of Meenakshi named Shanker, do many illegal activities and crimes.
In such one incident, one honest government officer was killed as he refused to sign documents for grabbing some land property. R.K.Naidu was looking after the cases of all these illegal activities. During his investigations and interrogations, he comes to know that Dharma, the associate of Selvaswamy was Shanti's elder brother. Thus Dharma, Sathya, Daya come to know about the whereabouts of Shanti and they were greatly pleased to know that she married a great police officer.
Selvaswamy gets arrested because of the murder of the government officer even though he did not do the murder due to lack of sufficient evidences. Gomati, Shanker, one home minister and another cousin of Shanti named Arvind all these together plan an attack on R.K.Naidu's family to take revenge without the knowledge of Selvaswamy. Meanwhile, Meenakshi who was pregnant gives birth to two sons(twins) and after some days when she learns about the bomb blast on R.K.Naidu's family, she gets shocked and dies in the temple praying for R.K.Naidu's life after writing a letter to Selvaswamy narrating all the events that took place and Gomathi's major involvement in all those crimes. Selva repents a lot for the happenings and gets angry over his mother. So he chose Shanker, as he was in jail, for bringing up his children by keeping them aloof from the crime world. So Shanker gets married immediately by bringing a girl from an orphanage and kept the children with him.
Shanti also gave birth to a son whose name was chosen as Mahidhar. R.K.Naidu and Shanti were very happy along with Dharma, Satya, Daya and others. Prior to this, Dharma had married Keerthana with the knowledge of R.K.Naidu. But their marriage was kept secret and Keerthana chose to stay away in U.S. And continue her studies.
But she agreed to be in constant touch with R.K.Naidu and let him know her updates. So nobody knew that Dharma and Keerthana were married except R.K.Naidu. Dharma also leaves the scene.
He was much disturbed with the inner conflict in his conscience about good and evil, right and wrong, duty and personal relationships. He was unable to believe that his most trusted friend was so selfish to turn him out. He did not understand how people commit crimes and even do not bother in killing people for their selfish motives. All this made him averse to the worldly life. He becomes like a sanyasi or detached person and leaves all people and goes wandering in search of solution for all his questions. Gomathi along with Shanker, Aravind and one home minister planned for bomb blast on R.K.Naidu's family. But as it was not easy for them to plant a bomb in their house, she blackmails R.K.Naidu's assistant Shivaram and makes him invite all of them to his house for giving a party.
![]()
As R.K.Naidu was very confident in Shivaram, he accepted the invitation. While they were enjoying, the bomb blast occurs and Daya, the youngest brother of Dharma gets killed in the blast who was the most happiest in that occasion. R.K.Naidu, Shanti, Satya get injured of whom R.K.Naidu's case was very critical. Immediately, they were taken to the hospital where Shanti and Satya recover without major problem but R.K.Naidu was critical. Another worst thing to happen was the missing of their son Mahi during the bomb blast.
Nobody noticed him stepping out from the house during the bomb blast. Everyone including the security around the house and at gate came rushing into the house on hearing the blast to see whether R.K.Naidu, Shanti and others were safe or not.
And seeing them lying in blood and Daya's dead body all were nervous and shocked and had no thought of the child who was just about one year old. The boy went out weeping and crossed the gate and walked stumbling over the roads until he was noticed by a woman who took him to her house. Her husband was alcohol addict. He noticed a gold chain in the neck of the child which was gifted by Dharma to him before Dharma left the scene in search of answers for the puzzles of what is right and what wrong.
The man took the child out to a lonely place and removed the chain from his neck and placed him in a lorry which was going to Vizag. Only after Satya and Shanti recovered from the shock, were they able to notice that Mahi was missing. They searched for him but could not find him. R.K.Naidu recovered from his critical condition by God's grace after Meenakshi's prayers and her life sacrifice. He also employed all his police force to trace for Mahi but could not find him.
Selva shakes Paati and she wakes up weakly. Selva reprimands her about leaving home without telling anyone and asks her to come home and asks Shankar to inform everyone that she is found.
Paati says she won’t come home until Dharma come and says either he should come or she should die. Selva scolds her for being so stubborn.
But Paati doesn’t agree to move even a bit and lies down again. Mahi calls Selva and Selva say about Paati being so stubborn and asks him if he will talk.
Mahi says he will call back in a while and hangs up. Selva waits for his call and after few mins Mahi calls back and says he put everyone in conference call and asks to on the speaker mode. Selva does and Mahi asks Paati about coming back. Meanwhile Devi says that she won’t get sreemantham done until she come back and won’t even eat and everyone else start repeating the same and at last Muniyamma too. Paati gets up saying shut up silly woman.
Part 2: Mahi says to come back silently. Paati says this is blackmail. Devi says they all mean it and that they panicked since morning that she is missing.
Durga and Eshwar too repeat the same. Paati gets emotional for their care and agrees to come back home. Selva brings Paati home and Eshwar, Durga, Sindhu and Pallavi go running to her and hug her.
Devi too hugs Paati. Paati thinks that all these kids did all this for her and feels happy. Mahi in tamil says if Paati did all this one more time he wouldn’t spare her. Paati caressing him says she got it and hugs him. Satya, Shanti, Keerthana see this from upstairs. They take Paati in and she seeing Shanti asks how she is. Shanti says she is fine and asks her to sit.
They all sit down in the hall. Part 3: Rajani asks Paati to take rest but Paati says seeing the kids’ love on her, it’s like getting a rebirth and that she understood now how an iota of love brings back loads of it. She says that she understood that love gives love and similarly hate gives hate. Mahi sitting beside Paati says her to be happy as she changed now. Paati says she changed coz of him the very moment when she knew that Mahi saved Selva despite knowing that he became an orphan due to them Devi and Shanti look at Mahi in appreciation. Paati continues that Sindhu and Pallavi too taught her what love is. Paati asks Keerthana and Sindhu not to worry about Dharma saying they are very good people and doesn’t know anything except giving love and if Dharma didn’t come, God doesn’t exist and assures them that God will surely bring Dharma.
Keerthana and Sindhu look at each other with hope. Next morning Ali, Anji, Mohan, Durga, Eshwar, Sindhu, Anju keep making arrangements for Devi’s sreemantham having fun among themselves. Eshwar sits in the chair brought for Devi and Durga and others start throwing flowers at Eshwar as if it’s his function and Eshwar keeps pushing them away laughing. Pallavi and Rajani get Devi ready. Screen freezes on Devi. Coming up: Devi coming down for the function.
